The Carlisle Truck Stop Ministry, Inc. will hold its Annual Cookie Collection and Distribution in November and December. Each year, approximately 14, 000 bags of cookies are collected and distributed to truck drivers, local motels, and businesses, employees at the truck stops and to travelers who are passing through the Carlisle area. This is just one way that the Ministry reaches out to truckers and the community to let them know that we appreciate what they do and are thinking of them while they are away from home during the holidays.
If you would like to participate, all you need to do is bake some cookies, put 5-6 cookies in a zip-lock bag and then put them in a paper lunch bag which may be decorated. Enclose a note, tract, or Christmas greeting along with your church name or Truck Stop Ministry contact information. Bags can be sealed by stapling a Christmas card front to the bag.
Cookies can be dropped off on Mondays, November 25th, December 2nd, 9th or 16th between 10:00 a.m. and Noon at the Ministry's trailor located at the Iron Skillet Restaurant parking lot at 1175 Harrisburg Pike in Carlisle. That's on U.S. Route 11, between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate 81.
